Shelby PK-8 School

We provided Construction Manager at Risk services to Shelby City Schools for a two-story school housing 1500 students and staff members and the abatement and demolition of three buildings, including two standalone elementary schools and one middle school. Abatement and demolition was performed after the new building was completed and all students are consolidated to one campus.

The new pre-kindergarten through eighth grade building combined the student populations of Dowds Elementary, Auburn Elementary and Shelby Middle School. Auburn Elementary was built in 1948, Dowds Elementary was built in 1956, and Shelby Middle School was built in 1965.

The cost of the project was shared 50/50 between Shelby City Schools, and the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC). This project has achieved LEED® Silver.

Adena self-performed masonry, steel, general trades, and concrete.
