Our History
Building our community since 1982.
Adena’s story begins in 1982 with the formation of Adena Corporation. A pivotal chapter followed in 1988 when Randy Payne joined the company as an estimator. Over the next thirteen years, he advanced through the organization, became president, and in 2007 assumed full ownership. As the company grew under Randy’s entrepreneurial spirit, Adena expanded its self-perform capabilities, laying the foundation for specialized teams focused on the trades that define a project’s success. The goal was simple – become a turn-key general contractor and control the critical trades that greatly impact the schedule to building enclosure.

Today, Adena Construction employs over 550 individuals and has offices in Ohio, Florida, Colorado, and Virginia. Despite the growth and evolution, Adena’s core values remain the same:
